Fines for Failing to Comply

Beginning on July 1st, 2021, when a brand new or renewed contract is signed on a Bridge Pā rental property, all Healthy Homes compliance work must be done by the end of 90 days.

Beginning on July 1st, 2021, if a new, renewed or varied lease is entered into on a Bridge Pā rental property, all Healthy Homes compliance work must be taken care of by the end of 90 days.

When do I need to be in compliance with the Healthy Homes Standards?

Bridge Pā Healthy Homes Compliance Timeframes

Tenancies that were signed between 1 July 2019 and the 30th June in 2021

  • Ceiling and underfloor insulation is a requirement in all Bridge Pā and New Zealand rental houses where it’s reasonably practicable to put in.
  • A Healthy Homes Intent to Comply Statement as well as an Insulation Statement, and an Insurance Statement should be included with any renewed, new or amended tenancy agreement.

From 1 July 2024

  • All rentals homes have to meet the Healthy Homes Standards regardless of when the tenancy began.
